God's Own Thought

Before God manifested Himself, when all things were still hidden in Him... He began by forming an imperceptible point; that was His own thought. With this thought He then began to construct a mysterious and holy form . . . the Universe

--- The Zohar

On Quarreling

Most people never realize that all of us here shall one day perish. But those who do realize that truth settle their quarrels peacefully
---
The Buddha Shakyamuni,
Dhammapada 6

There is Nothing Hidden . . .

Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you. For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed

---Jesus, Thomas 5

To Rule Over Oneself

A person’s highest spiritual goal is to rule over himself to such an extent that Divine Providence can act through him

---

The Talmud (Suka)

The Place Of Life

The person old in days won't hesitate to ask a little child seven days old about the place of life, and that person will live. For many of the first will be last, and will become a single one

---Jesus, Thomas 4

The Unalterable Law

The hatred of those who harbor ill feelings never ceases. But the hatred of those who do not harbor such ill feelings is easily overcome. Thus, we can say: Hatred never ceases by hatred; but by love alone is overcome---This is an unalterable law

---The Buddha Shakyamuni, Dhammapada 3-5.

"Arise From The Mind"

All the phenomena of existence arise from the mind, are led by the mind, and of mind are they made. If with an impure mind one speaks or acts, suffering follows him in the same way as the cart wheel follows the step of the ox . . . All the phenomena of existence arise from the mind, are led by the mind, and of mind are they made. If with a pure mind one speaks or acts, happiness follows him like his own shadow in the sun

--- The Buddha Shakyamuni (Dhammapada 1, 2)

Those Who Seek . . .

Whoever discovers the interpretation of these words will not taste death: Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be at first taken aback. After they are taken aback, they will marvel, and they will be one with all. And after they have been one with all they will rest . . . If your teachers say to you, 'God's kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, God's kingdom is within you and it is outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living God. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty---Jesus (Thomas 1-3)

THE WISDOM OF THE BUDDHA

The Most Important Aspect . . .

The most important aspect of the process of self improvement is the cultivation of one’s sense of humility before the Creator. This, however, should not be an artificial undertaking, but a goal of one’s efforts. If, as a result of working on the self, an individual gradually starts to develop this quality, then it means that he is proceeding in the right direction---The Talmud (Avodah Zarah)
